What is agent-ready commerce?

Most ordering infrastructure is built for humans clicking buttons. As AI assistants, voice interfaces and autonomous agents become part of how people order food and retail items, the ordering layer needs to be machine-readable, intent-driven and usable without a graphical UI. Upvendo is building API primitives and intent-based ordering contracts so ordering agents — embedded in a chat app, a voice assistant, or a custom AI — can submit orders with the same reliability as a human at a kiosk.

What we deliver

- **Intent-based menu queries**: ask "something under €10 with no nuts" and receive a filtered, ranked menu response. - **Cart via conversation**: add, remove and adjust items through a structured intent API instead of a step-by-step form. - **Agent auth tokens**: scoped API tokens for named ordering agents, with per-agent spend limits and order logging. - **Webhooks for agent flows**: order-status events formatted for agent consumption, not just human notifications.

Current status

Agent-ready commerce is in an early design phase. Operators interested in early access can sign up via the configurator; we'll be in touch as soon as the beta program opens. The existing Ordering API already supports self-built ordering flows. The agent-ready layer adds intent resolution, semantic menu queries and agent-identity management on top of that foundation.
